Lime is obtained by calcining limestone in mixed feed shaft kilns.
Lime is used in industry and agriculture. In chemical industry, there is a significant number of industries where lime is one of the main raw materials (production of soda, calcium carbide, etc.). It is used in significant quantities in metallurgical industry, in production of building materials and in performance of construction works, where it mainly serves as a binder for brick-laying and plastering, as well as in painting for whitewashing and color painting.
In metallurgy (ferrous and non-ferrous), lime is used as a flux.
Appearance: powdery substance from light gray to brown with lumpy inclusions.
