When developing and designing the subdivisions of TEMP JSC, all requirements were taken into account in accordance with the environmental impact standards and regulations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Paying great attention to the improvement of the technical process, TEMP JSC solves the issues of reducing environmental risks from production activities.
The main environmental issues for the enterprises of the mining and production units are pollution emissions into the atmosphere and environment, land reclamation, the impact of production on groundwater, etc.
For the enterprises of mining block, when projects move to the stage of industrial development, measures are being developed to reduce the impact of production on the environment. Specialized companies are involved in the development of projects.
Today, TEMP JSC is fully provided with the necessary design and permitting documentation in the field of environmental protection.
In accordance with Chapter 13 of the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, industrial environmental control, including operational monitoring, emissions monitoring, and impact monitoring are carried out in structural subdivisions of TEMP JSC.
Ведение производственного мониторинга окружающей среды проводится аккредитованной санитарной лабораторией АО «ТЭМК» либо сторонней аккредитованной экологической лабораторией, аттестованными Госстандартом техническими средствами, оборудованием и измерительными приборами в соответствии с утвержденными план-графиками.
Production monitoring of the environment is carried out by an accredited sanitary laboratory of TEMP JSC or a third-party accredited environmental laboratory, technical means, equipment and measuring instruments certified by the State Standard in accordance with the approved schedules.
The results of monitoring at organized emission sources during the year show that the actual emissions of pollutants do not exceed the limits.
On behalf of the Head of State, the Committee for Environmental Regulation and Control of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan developed a "Roadmap for a comprehensive solution of environmental problems of Karaganda region for 2020-2024", which included measures to monitor emissions of pollutants in real time on emission sources of the Chemical and Metallurgical Plant of TEMP JSC (cl. 31, cl. 32).
In 2022, the design and estimate documentation “Stage-by-stage implementation of an automated monitoring system at emission sources of the Chemical and Metallurgical Plant of TEMP JSC” was developed and passed a comprehensive non-departmental examination.
Currently, commercial proposals for the supply and installation of equipment to execute an automated monitoring system implementation activity at emission sources are being considered.
The enterprise is carrying out the planned activities agreed in the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan:
- current repairs of dust collecting installations at sources of dust emission (chutes, conveyors, crushers, elevators and other process equipment)
- works on dust suppression of industrial sites (irrigation in summer)
- "repairs, replacement of fuel equipment, improvement of fuel combustion modes of vehicles"
- work on disposal of production waste.
The work to maintain the sanitary condition of the territory and the sanitary protection zone of the enterprise is also carried out. Works to clean up the area adjacent to the workshops, and to cut down the undergrowth are conducted.
Since 2019, TEMP JSC has been annually planting tree seedlings (birch, ash-leaved maple, pyramidal poplar, oak, yellow acacia, lilac, elm, hawthorn) on the territory of the Chemical and Metallurgical Plant, the Bogach quarry, the Yuzhno-Toparskoye flux limestone deposit and sanitary protection zone. Tree seedlings were planted in the amount of:
- in 2019 -188 units
- in 2020 - 100 units (spruce, birch, maple, oak, elm), 75 units of which are on the territory of the Park in the Old Town, in honor of the 75th anniversary of Temirtau city
- in 2021 – 690 units.
In 2022 it is planned to plant 700 units of seedlings.
In order to educate and promote knowledge in environmental protection, the enterprise provides environmental training (increasing the qualifications of specialists) and subscribing to newspapers: Ecological Courier, Ecology and Industry of Kazakhstan.
TEMP JSC annually participates in:
- in the international environmental event "Earth Hour", the purpose of which is to draw attention to the need for a responsible attitude to the nature and resources of the planet.
- in the republican campaign "Birge Kazakhstan", the purpose of which is to promote environmental education and to explain the need for separate waste collection to ensure further processing.
Summarizing the above, we would like to note that TEMP JSC taking into account its capabilities is gradually introducing environmental care into its activities, while increasing both economic and environmental performance.
